A revolution in foundry technology at RKL Foundry: The latest ExOne S-Max® 3D printer is now up and running!

The introduction of the S-Max® 3D printer, a globally recognised standard in modern foundry technology, is revolutionising production processes at RKL Slévárny and delivering direct benefits to our customers.

S-Max® enables the rapid and reliable production of large and extremely complex sand cores and moulds, guaranteeing top-class internal and surface quality of the final castings. We significantly reduce response and delivery times. This is crucial for single-piece and small-batch production, where we can immediately implement dimensional changes in line with the customer’s current requirements. Thanks to cold-printing technology, we increase the flexibility of production for even the most complex castings.

This technological modernisation also has a significant impact on operational sustainability. RKL Slévárna is actively and demonstrably reducing its environmental footprint.

The entire installation of the S-Max® printer was a challenging project carried out with the support of our partners. The equipment was transported by our subsidiary RKL Opava, and the commissioning was assisted by experts from Colmex Sp. z o.o., the distributor, and specialists directly from the manufacturer ExOne.

The official launch of full-scale operations was attended by the entire holding company team, the management of our partner company Storvik, representatives of our technology partner ExOne, and the distributor Colmex. The symbolic ribbon marking the start of production was ceremonially cut by the holding company’s owner, Mr Karel Suchánek, and a representative of Storvik, Mr Nils L. Sande.
